About the Class
Spend a creative day sewing your own beautiful tiered summer skirt using the Tilly and the Buttons Luella Skirt Sewing Pattern. The Luella skirt is a floaty, versatile design that’s perfect for warm weather. With its comfortable elasticated waistband and swishy gathered tiers, it’s the kind of garment you’ll reach for again and again throughout the summer. During this workshop we’ll guide you through the process step by step so you can confidently sew your own garment and leave with a finished skirt ready to wear. This class is suitable for beginners who already know how to use a sewing machine and would like to start making their own clothes. The Luella pattern includes several options so you can customise your skirt. You can choose to make: • A two-tier midi skirt • A three-tier maxi skirt Additional options include: •Optional pockets •A choice between a classic gathered tier seam or a decorative exposed frill seam This makes Luella a lovely project for experimenting with prints and lightweight summer fabrics. What You’ll Learn • Throughout the workshop you’ll learn key dressmaking skills including: • Working with a commercial sewing pattern • Cutting and preparing your fabric • Sewing gathered tiers • Constructing an elasticated waistband • Adding pockets (optional) • Finishing seams neatly By the end of the workshop you’ll have a finished skirt and the confidence to tackle more garment sewing projects. What’s Included During the workshop you’ll have access to our fully equipped sewing studio including: • Sewing machines and overlockers • Large cutting tables • Pressing stations • Plenty of space to work comfortably • Tea and coffee are available throughout the day. What to bring: • The Luella skirt sewing pattern • Your chosen fabric • Elastic for the waistband • Matching thread If you prefer, you can order your supplies through our online shop and collect them at the workshop. We also offer ready-made sewing kits which include everything you need for this project. Is This Workshop Right for Me? Cancellation Policy
By booking a course or workshop with Ready Steady Sew, you are agreeing to the terms outlined in this cancellation policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us prior to booking. Please head to the Cancellation Policy header in the menu tab to view our full policy. Cancellation Due to Non-Attendance We understand that sometimes circumstances change, but we ask for your cooperation with our cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made at least 14 working days before the course start date to receive a full refund. 14 days or less notice: 50% of the course fee will be refunded. 7 days or less before the course start date: 100% of the course fee will be charged Non-attendance without prior notice will result in no refund. To cancel your place, please email us at readysteadysew@hotmail.com as soon as possible. All cancellations must be received in writing via email. Refunds will be processed the same day that you request it. However, please note that the processing time is dependent on Wix Payments (our payment provider) and your bank. We have no control over how long it takes for the funds to appear in your account, but it can take up to 20 business days in total, depending on your bank's processing times. No Refunds for Partially Attended Courses There will be no refunds for partially attended courses. If you decide that the course is not for you after attending part of it, you will not be eligible for a refund. We encourage you to make sure the course is right for you before booking. Transfers to Future Classes If you need to transfer to a future class, you must notify us at least 14 working days before the class start date. Unfortunately, we cannot accept transfer requests within 14 days of the class start date. We are unable to transfer bookings after this time frame as it's not long enough for us to refill your spot, and it takes a spot away from a future student. As a small business, we rely on full classes to remain sustainable, and offering transfers to everyone who requests them would result in under-booked classes. We encourage you to ensure you're available for the dates of the course you book. Once a spot is reserved, it is committed to you, and we cannot accommodate changes to future sessions regardless of the reason.
