1:1 Sewing Lessons – Tailored to Your Needs

Whether you're just starting out or already have some sewing experience, our 1:1 lessons are designed to meet you exactly where you are. You can book as many hours as you need, focusing solely on the areas that will help you improve the most. You’ll have our full attention throughout the session, and together, we’ll work on boosting your sewing skills in the way that works best for you.

What You Can Focus On

 

Mastering Your Machine
Struggling with your sewing machine or overlocker? Let’s conquer any fears and build your confidence with hands-on guidance. A 2-hour session is usually perfect for getting to grips with the basics of your machine.

 

Pattern Cutting & Fitting
Interested in designing your own garments? Everything begins with creating a custom pattern block based on your measurements. We’ll teach you how to take accurate measurements, create your blocks, and modify them to craft your own designs. We can also focus on garment fitting, adjustments, and copying your favourite clothing items to achieve the perfect fit.

 

Perfecting Techniques
Do you have a specific technique you want to master? Whether it’s sewing in zips, perfecting French seams, or achieving flawless finishes on collars and cuffs, we can focus on any particular skill you’d like to refine. We also offer guidance in hand embroidery, sashiko, beading, darning, and free-motion embroidery.

 

Tackling Projects
Got a pile of unfinished projects sitting around? Whether it's an item you want to alter but don’t know how, a project you got stuck on, or a pattern that feels too advanced—together, we’ll tackle it and help you finish what you’ve started. No project is too big or small.

 

Workshops On Demand
If you missed one of our past workshops or want to revisit a particular topic, we can offer tailored 1:1 lessons. Workshops available include: working with stretch fabrics, making knickers, altering and repairing clothes, copying a pattern from an existing garment, beginners dressmaking, working with fabric on the bias, sewing collars and cuffs, denim, outerwear, designing and making swimwear, and a variety of hand and decorative sewing techniques.

Pricing

• Private 1:1 sewing lessons are £40 per hour for weekday daytime sessions. We recommend a minimum of 2 hours to make the most of your time.

• Evening and weekend 1:1 lessons are £50 per hour to reflect the extra staffing and scheduling requirements.

• You can book from 2 hours up to 6 hours (a full day), depending on how much you'd like to cover.

• Want to bring a friend? 1:2 lessons are a brilliant way to learn together and cost an additional £10 per hour.

• Payment can be made after your lesson by card at the studio; however, for full-day lessons, we may ask for a 50% deposit to secure your space.

 

Availability

• Weekday daytime: 9am–4pm

• Evening sessions: 6–9pm

• Weekends: 9am–5pm

• All evening and weekend sessions are subject to availability and charged at the higher rate.
