About the Class
Are you ready to take your sewing to the next level? This one-day Pattern Hacking Masterclass is designed to give you the tools, techniques and confidence to truly make commercial patterns your own. Whether you're dreaming of a dramatic bishop sleeve or a sweet Peter Pan collar, this workshop will show you how to transform standard sewing patterns into unique designs that reflect your personal style. What You'll Learn Over the course of the day, you’ll gain a solid understanding of how to adapt and manipulate patterns. You’ll work in half-scale so you can try out lots of ideas and techniques without the pressure of full-size fitting — and you'll go home with a brilliant set of half-scale toiles and notes to refer back to again and again. Here's what we’ll cover: Changing necklines Creating sleeveless styles – by hacking the armholes and adjusting the fit Sleeve transformations – including how to draft: A puff sleeve A bishop sleeve A raglan sleeve Adding a button stand opening – perfect for turning a simple top into a shirt-style piece Drafting your own cuffs Designing a Peter Pan collar – and how to draft it to fit any neckline This is a learning-focused workshop, not a garment-making day — it's all about skill-building. By the end of the day, you’ll have a whole host of pattern manipulation techniques under your belt, plus the confidence to start customising your favourite patterns at home. Who This Workshop Is For This class is ideal for confident beginners and intermediate sewists who are comfortable using commercial patterns and want to start exploring design and pattern drafting techniques. If you’ve ever looked at a pattern and thought, “I like it, but I wish it had...”, this is the workshop for you. What you'll need: a couple of metres of calico (also available in our web shop) any pattern cutting rulers you might have (or borrow ours) lunch and snacks for the day

Cancellation Policy
By booking a course or workshop with Ready Steady Sew, you are agreeing to the terms outlined in this cancellation policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us prior to booking. Please head to the Cancellation Policy header in the menu tab to view our full policy. Cancellation Due to Non-Attendance We understand that sometimes circumstances change, but we ask for your cooperation with our cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made at least 14 working days before the course start date to receive a full refund. 14 days or less notice: 50% of the course fee will be refunded. 7 days or less before the course start date: 100% of the course fee will be charged Non-attendance without prior notice will result in no refund. To cancel your place, please email us at readysteadysew@hotmail.com as soon as possible. All cancellations must be received in writing via email. Refunds will be processed the same day that you request it. However, please note that the processing time is dependent on Wix Payments (our payment provider) and your bank. We have no control over how long it takes for the funds to appear in your account, but it can take up to 20 business days in total, depending on your bank's processing times. No Refunds for Partially Attended Courses There will be no refunds for partially attended courses. If you decide that the course is not for you after attending part of it, you will not be eligible for a refund. We encourage you to make sure the course is right for you before booking. Transfers to Future Classes If you need to transfer to a future class, you must notify us at least 14 working days before the class start date. Unfortunately, we cannot accept transfer requests within 14 days of the class start date. We are unable to transfer bookings after this time frame as it's not long enough for us to refill your spot, and it takes a spot away from a future student. As a small business, we rely on full classes to remain sustainable, and offering transfers to everyone who requests them would result in under-booked classes. We encourage you to ensure you're available for the dates of the course you book. Once a spot is reserved, it is committed to you, and we cannot accommodate changes to future sessions regardless of the reason.
