About the Class
Learn how to make a professionally finished Roman blind in this practical one-day workshop. Roman blinds are a classic window treatment and, once you understand the construction, you can adapt the same techniques to make blinds for any window in your home. During the workshop you will sew a small sample Roman blind, allowing you to learn all of the essential techniques in a manageable format. Working at this smaller scale means we can cover the full process in one day, while giving you the knowledge and confidence to go on and make full-size blinds at home. By the end of the workshop you will understand how Roman blinds are constructed and how to apply the same methods to blinds of any size. What you will learn In this workshop we will cover the key techniques used in Roman blind making, including: Understanding the components of a Roman blind How to measure and plan a blind for your window Cutting and preparing fabric and lining Constructing the blind Adding rods and tape Creating the channel system Attaching rings and cords Tips for installing and hanging your blind at home Your workshop includes a Roman blind making kit (worth £25) containing the specialist materials needed to construct your sample blind. The kit includes fabric, lining, fibreglass rods, a bottom bar, rings, cord and Velcro, allowing you to practise the full blind-making process during the class. Who is this workshop for? This workshop is suitable for confident beginners and improvers who are comfortable using a sewing machine and would like to learn new home furnishing skills. You will leave with your completed sample blind, along with the knowledge and techniques needed to confidently make Roman blinds for your own windows.

To cancel your place, please email us at readysteadysew@hotmail.com as soon as possible. All cancellations must be received in writing via email. Refunds will be processed the same day that you request it. However, please note that the processing time is dependent on Wix Payments (our payment provider) and your bank. We have no control over how long it takes for the funds to appear in your account, but it can take up to 20 business days in total, depending on your bank's processing times. No Refunds for Partially Attended Courses There will be no refunds for partially attended courses. If you decide that the course is not for you after attending part of it, you will not be eligible for a refund. We encourage you to make sure the course is right for you before booking. Transfers to Future Classes If you need to transfer to a future class, you must notify us at least 14 working days before the class start date. Unfortunately, we cannot accept transfer requests within 14 days of the class start date. We are unable to transfer bookings after this time frame as it's not long enough for us to refill your spot, and it takes a spot away from a future student. As a small business, we rely on full classes to remain sustainable, and offering transfers to everyone who requests them would result in under-booked classes. We encourage you to ensure you're available for the dates of the course you book. Once a spot is reserved, it is committed to you, and we cannot accommodate changes to future sessions regardless of the reason.
