About the Class
Spend the day sewing your own pair of Everyday Trousers using the brand new exclusive Ready Steady Sew pattern. This workshop is designed for sewists who already have some dressmaking experience and are looking for their next project. We'll guide you through the construction of the trousers, sharing tips and techniques along the way to help you achieve a beautifully finished garment. The Everyday Trouser is a modern pull-on style with a comfortable elasticated waistband, front and back patch pockets and a distinctive waist tie. The front patch pockets extend to form the belt loops, creating a unique design feature that sets this pattern apart. Choose between a classic wide-leg version or a slimmer leg with front and back pleats for a more tailored silhouette. Sewn together using both French seams and flatfell seams the inside of your trousers will be just as gorgeous as the outside. This workshop is not suitable for complete beginners. Before booking, you should be able to: Use a sewing machine confidently without assistance. Read and follow a sewing pattern. Have completed at least one pair of trousers or a similar garment. Sew accurately and confidently using standard dressmaking techniques. If you're new to dressmaking, we'd recommend starting with our Beginner Capsule Wardrobe Course, where you'll learn the essential skills before making the Everyday Trouser as one of the course projects. To make the most of our time together, you'll receive the Everyday Trouser PDF pattern before the workshop. Please print the pattern, choose your size and cut out your fabric before you arrive so we can spend the day sewing rather than preparing. Bring your own fabric, or purchase one of our Everyday Trouser Sewing Kits, which include the fabric, matching thread and elastic needed for your project. Cancellation Policy – Classes & Workshops By booking a class or workshop with Ready Steady Sew, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read carefully before booking. Booking & Payment All classes and workshops must be paid for in full at the time of booking to secure your place. Cancellations & Refunds Please check dates carefully before booking. As our classes run on specific dates and spaces are limited, all bookings are non-refundable We are unable to offer refunds if you are no longer able to attend, regardless of the reason. This includes illness, work commitments, or changes in personal circumstances. If You Are Unable to Attend If for any reason you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always try to find someone to take your place as a goodwill gesture, however this is not guaranteed and we are not contractually obliged to do so If we are able to fill your space, we may offer you the option to move to a future class If we are unable to fill your space, your booking will remain non-refundable and non-transferable You are also welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know their name and contact details in advance Non-Attendance Failure to attend your class will result in the loss of your booking No refunds or alternatives will be offered Partially Attended Courses We do not offer refunds or alternatives for partially attended courses or workshops, please ensure you can come to all dates If We Need to Cancel In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or reschedule a class: We will aim to give at least one week’s notice where possible, however in some circumstances this may be less You will be offered a full refund, or The option to move to an alternative date Please note that we are not liable for any additional costs or losses incurred, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or purchased materials and fabrics. As a small business, we rely on full classes to remain sustainable, and offering transfers or refunds to everyone who requests them would result in under-booked classes. Once a spot is reserved, it is committed to you, and we cannot accommodate changes to future sessions regardless of the reason.
