Join us for a relaxed, creative sewing workshop where you’ll make your own quilted vest (gilet) using the Ruby Vest pattern by Syd Graham Patterns. This is a really satisfying make that’s perfect for layering through the seasons. Quilted vests are one of those wardrobe staples that feel both practical and handmade, and in this workshop you’ll learn how to construct one from start to finish with a beautiful professional finish. Whether you’re looking to try your first outerwear-style project or build on existing sewing skills, this workshop is a great step into more structured garment making without being overwhelming. What You’ll Make You’ll create a fully finished quilted vest/gilet using the Ruby Vest pattern, which includes clean finishes, binding techniques and simple but effective construction methods. You’ll leave with a wearable handmade piece you can style over dresses, tops or knitwear. During the workshop you will learn: How to quilt fabrics Cutting and preparing pattern pieces accurately Binding edges for a clean, professional finish Topstitching for structure and detail Constructing a reversible or fully lined garment (depending on fabric choice) This workshop is suitable for: Confident beginners who have used a sewing machine before Improvers wanting to try garment construction Anyone who has completed a simple clothing project and wants to progress You should already be comfortable sewing straight seams and using a sewing machine independently. You'll need to bring along your copy of the pattern as well as the fabric etc needed to make your project

Cancellation Policy – Classes & Workshops By booking a class or workshop with Ready Steady Sew, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read carefully before booking. Booking & Payment All classes and workshops must be paid for in full at the time of booking to secure your place. Cancellations & Refunds Please check dates carefully before booking. As our classes run on specific dates and spaces are limited, all bookings are non-refundable We are unable to offer refunds if you are no longer able to attend, regardless of the reason. This includes illness, work commitments, or changes in personal circumstances. If You Are Unable to Attend If for any reason you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always try to find someone to take your place as a goodwill gesture, however this is not guaranteed and we are not contractually obliged to do so If we are able to fill your space, we may offer you the option to move to a future class If we are unable to fill your space, your booking will remain non-refundable and non-transferable You are also welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know their name and contact details in advance Non-Attendance Failure to attend your class will result in the loss of your booking No refunds or alternatives will be offered Partially Attended Courses We do not offer refunds or alternatives for partially attended courses or workshops, please ensure you can come to all dates If We Need to Cancel In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or reschedule a class: We will aim to give at least one week’s notice where possible, however in some circumstances this may be less You will be offered a full refund, or The option to move to an alternative date Please note that we are not liable for any additional costs or losses incurred, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or purchased materials and fabrics. As a small business, we rely on full classes to remain sustainable, and offering transfers or refunds to everyone who requests them would result in under-booked classes.
