About the Class
Join us for a two-day workshop where you can sew your choice of two stylish garments: the Jenna Shirt or the Patina Blouse. Both patterns offer unique design elements that will enhance your sewing skills and result in a versatile addition to your wardrobe. Jenna Shirt: A relaxed-fit shirt featuring a dropped shoulder, deep back yoke and a charming hang loop in place of a traditional back pleat, it keeps things classic with a collar stand, long sleeves finished with a tower placket and cuff, and a neat patch pocket on the bust. Patina Blouse: A V-neck, collared blouse with a button-up front, designed for light to mid-weight woven fabrics. It includes options for short or long sleeves with cuffs and a continuous bound placket. Techniques you’ll learn: Constructing collars, cuffs, and button plackets Sewing buttonholes and attaching buttons Sewing straight and curved seams neatly Finishing seams and hemming for a professional look Pressing and final finishing techniques What to bring: Your chosen pattern (the Jenna Shirt or Patina Blouse) Light- to medium-weight woven fabric (cotton, linen, viscose, or similar) Interfacing Matching thread Buttons (number and size as per pattern) Basic sewing kit – fabric scissors, pins or clips, tape measure, unpicker, fabric marker, hand-sewing needle Machines, irons, and tools are provided in the studio. To get the most out of our workshops we ask that all students trace off or cut out their patterns in advance so that we can spend the day cutting out and sewing. If you aren't sure which size to choose please email us with your measurements and we will help you pick.
